Opposites Mostly not Attract.

Hello Everyone,

The thought behind that the opposites attract seems to be really unlikely.
A lot of research has been done on this subject all leading to
that we tend to pick friends and mates that underneath are much like us.
This is due to the fact that one-third of the reason why we pick someone is on the account of our genes. But this also means that we can fill in the other two third of the reason ourselves. If we look at identical twins we see that they share a hundred percent of the same genes and friends as well, proving the one-third gene theory. With the survival of the fittest in the back of our minds it isn’t that weird that we prefer to choose social partners who are on the same genetic level as ourselves. We are all just trying to maintain our own gene pool by making sure we’ll have good gene pools for coming generations. Beside that we tend to prefer someone who looks more like ourselves. So we aren’t only looking for good genes, but genes that are also close to our own genes.
Still the other two third are for us to fill up and pick out our own friends
and partners based on thinks like status, location, family situations, physical appearance, etc.
But that opposites attract is a wrong idea, considering the fact that when you are opposite
in more than two dimensions can make a relation- or friendship difficult.
Over all it will always be the similarities that rule….
