Swing Smiles on Their Faces.

Hello Everyone,

 

Remember that time that you went to a playground when you were little?
What was the first thing you ran to?

Indeed: The swings.

Swings have always been popular among kids.
And beside that still are under the adults,
due to the relaxing effect giving them the rest to think.

A swing is a hanging seat hold up
by ropes or chains mostly found on
playgrounds but also in the circus for acrobats.
If you put more than one swing into a metal
or wooden frame it’s called a swing set.

 

Because the swings have been into the children’s worlds for years and years,
these swings and swing sets changed in shapes and sizes with time passing.
The first swing sets were handmade of wood and ropes.
They weren’t placed at playgrounds,
but in the back gardens of families who grew up on the prairie.
In the hope to give the children some fun on the swings after a day of work.
Not only the children enjoyed the time on the swing sets though.
Also the parents loved watching their children having fun playing on the swings.

After a couple of years rubber tires began to be produced.
And while these are of course meant for cars,
that didn’t stop kids from thinking up other
imaginative things to do with them.
Who knows who the first kid was to take a
rope and hang a tire in a tree and call it a swing,
but one thing is for sure:
it didn’t take other kids long to do the same.
Later on the swing sets were made out of aluminium and titanium.
These metal swing sets were found in back gardens aswell as parks.

Eventually the swing sets ended up on the playgrounds.
Giving every child…

the possibility to swing the smiles on their faces….
